Abstract:
The research described in this article was a qualitative examination of Israeli, Palestinian, and international peace educators’ conceptions of their work and its impact on their intended audience. A purposeful sampling of four Israeli, four Palestinian and four International peace educators working within the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict were interviewed. The participants were working to depolarize and rehumanize the stories and actions of the students in their educational programs by working through the deep intellectual and emotional issues that both Israelis and Palestinians face because of occupation. Numbers can be Fun – Innovative Way to Learn
Abstract:
The relevance and usefulness of Mathematics demands that the subject remain with the students beyond the years during which it is compulsory to learn. Mathematics is usually a dreaded subject for students, and communicating its principles effectively to each and every student in a class (with their own unique constraints), often becomes difficult for the teacher if he or she approaches the process in a stereotypical textbook fashion. This paper throws light on some of the creative and interactive ways to teach numbers – even, odd, prime, square, etc. – to the students in the initial years of schooling, so that as they proceed to the higher levels, they carry with them an interest in the subject, appreciating its natural logic and patterns. A good way to teach mathematics is to capitalize on the characteristic logic that exists in every aspect of the subject, to first appreciate its beautifully simple patterns that connect basic algorithms to many tiered theorems. Upon doing so, spontaneous graphic teaching methods and tools unveil themselves to the teacher, and can be used to make the conventionally boring
mathematics class lively and fun for the students.

ICT for Peace: A Philosophical Perspective
Abstract:
Since the last few decades the civilized world has witnessed an unprecedented explosion in the field of information and communication technology (ICT). The development and use of different electronic media have made it possible for millions of people to have fast access to huge information resources stored in different places on the planet, to communicate with each other, and to handle information presented in various forms. These technologies offer brilliant prospects in the process of peacebuilding and peace-keeping (Hattotuwa, 2004). In fact, the role of ICT in peace-building has gained increased recognition in the last few decades. Today, ICT is looked upon as a key to a promising new era, in which important policy decisions at different levels could be made on the basis of real discussions focused on real facts. Therefore, it is believed that ICT can be a huge aid in the effort to build lasting peace by helping people to better communicate with each other, and by allowing them to have access to
critical, real-time information, to make decisions, and to understand each other better.

Can Mathematics Educate for Peace?
Abstract:
This paper deals basically with what are our collective priorities for peace in society? How deeply related are mathematics and peace? War does not just kill people. It destroys roads, bridges, farming equipment, telecoms, water and sanitation systems. Survival of mankind, with dignity for all, is a most urgent and universal problem in this situation. The Program Ethnomathematics is a response to this crime, terrorism, and wars, and maintenance of world peace on a permanent basis. Savannah Yates rightly remarked that “Mathematics may not teach us how to end world hunger, create world peace or fix a broken heart. But it does teach us that every problem has a solution.”
